Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your browser or device. Websites may also use other browser storage mechanisms, such as localStorage and sessionStorage.

On my website, these technologies are used to remember your privacy choices and, where you have given your consent, to measure website usage and performance.

2. What analytics technologies are used?

I aim to understand how visitors interact with the website to improve its design and presentation of my photography portfolio.

If you consent to analytics, the website may collect information regarding:

  • pages viewed;
  • clicks on links and buttons;
  • scroll depth across pages;
  • approximate page view durations;
  • device type and browser viewport size;
  • referrer information (how you arrived at the site);
  • repeat visits.

The website may also generate randomly generated identifiers (such as a Visitor ID and Session ID) to associate related events during a visit. These identifiers do not contain your name or direct contact details.

I utilise my own custom analytics tracking script. Google Analytics 4 may also be used where implemented and enabled.

3. Can I decline analytics tracking?

Yes. Upon your first visit, the consent banner provides three distinct options:

  • Accept all: consent to all categories described on the banner that require consent.
  • Reject (Essential only): decline optional analytics technologies that require consent.
  • Customize: manually manage your preferences using a simple toggle in the privacy settings window.

If you decline analytics, the website will not deploy analytics tracking that requires your consent.

Once you make a choice, your preference is saved in your browser storage so that you are not prompted on every page load.

When a choice is made, a concise record of your choice timestamp may be transmitted to the server to record your preference. If you decline analytics, this record will not contain individual visitor tracking identifiers or browsing history.

4. How can I change my cookie preferences?

You can reopen your privacy settings and modify your choices at any time by clicking this link:

Manage Cookie Settings

If you disable analytics, new tracking events requiring consent will cease to be recorded. Disabling analytics does not automatically delete previously collected aggregated records.

5. Third-party service providers

The website relies on the following service providers:

  • Render — for web hosting and server infrastructure.
  • Google Sheets and Looker Studio — for storing and reviewing custom analytics reports.
  • Google Analytics 4 — for aggregate traffic measurement where enabled.

Social media links to Instagram, Telegram, and WhatsApp on the website are standard external links. Interacting with these links directs you to external platforms operating under their own respective privacy and cookie practices.

6. How long are data stored in your browser?

The storage duration depends on the specific technology used:

  • sessionStorage — typically persists only for the duration of your active browser session/tab.
  • localStorage — persists after the browser is closed until cleared manually by you or removed by the website.
  • Cookies — used by third-party services like Google Analytics have retention periods defined by their configuration.

Storage durations within your browser operate independently from server-side analytical record retention periods.

7. Managing and deleting cookies in your browser

Yes. Most web browsers allow you to inspect, block, or delete cookies and clear local browser storage.

If you clear your browser data or stored site preferences, your saved consent selection will be reset, and the website consent banner will reappear upon your next visit.
